Function & Design

Skyline Ink was honored to be invited to participate in a group project exhibit for ARTSPACE at Untitled. We began our creative process by conceptualizing in sketch, the meaning of a media room and the components within. Throughout the design process, we reviewed sketches, materials and test pieces and gathered input as a group to refine each piece. Then our design study was moved into 3D software to further sculpt and generate the required data to begin the manufacturing process. Our design is centered around the chair and based on an interpretation of the grid organization inherent to everything digital. It is also a tribute to an icon of retired analog technology, the television antenna. We incorporated organic forms to soften the overall effect. Photography by Ann Sherman
